Burnt Photographs

Example from my burnt photo experimentation...

Completed these at the end of my first uni year 2011, and used them in a small installation with my fried photos in my end of year exhibition. I will include a separate post for my show. The process is easy, although needs to be done outside. I set the photos alight, dunking them in a bucket of water when I didn't want to burn them any further. The effect is quite dark as some of the figures are burnt away evoking disturbing emotion. They are almost symbolic of destructive thought, and makes you think about house fires and death.
